Born in New York, Maeve is Native American. She is a Blackfoote as well as Cherokee. She was featured in Liminality the short film that was released in 2005. Her big-screen debut in 2005 on the critically acclaimed drama Transamerica. The year 2004, she made her TV debut, in the fourth season of Law & Order Criminal Intent episode.
